AutoCAD tip of the week : WMF CONVERTS 3D to 2D
If you use 3D wire frames and wish to edit the vectors in a 3D view before plotting, make a WMF file from a PAPER SPACE
viewport. Reinsert the WMF into a drawing and explode. You can now edit these vectors.
AutoCAD / 3D Studio in : 3DSIN Command
AutoCAD does not support 3DS BOX mapping and multiple materials at element level.
Try changing the box mapping to face map in 3DS and then import "by material", not by object.
AutoCAD for Windows : DRAG AND DROP TEXT FILES
You can drag and drop .TXT files into your drawing. Start DTEXT in the normal way and when you reach: Enter text>
DRAG AND DROP the .TXT file from File Manager or Explorer. This could be a fast way of dropping in specification notes.
AutoCAD tip of the week : UNEXPECTED DIM ARROWS
If you find Xref'ed arrow heads still plot from a frozen Viewport layer, try making your own user defined arrow heads
from a polyline. Then redefine all dimensions using DIM UPDATE.
